A mother and her toddler were wounded on Tuesday in a car explosion in central Israel, which police suspects may have targeted the woman’s husband.
Police have opened an investigation into the incident.
The 29-year-old pregnant woman and her one-year-old daughter were rushed to Kaplan Hospital in the city of Rehovot in a serious to moderate condition. Kaplan Hospital said in a statement the fetus is in stable condition.

While the woman was not known to the police, her husband is suspected of having links to criminal organizations and a police source said investigators examine if the explosives targeted him.
The woman’s husband was in the vicinity when the car exploded and cooperated with law enforcement officials.
