Rune is back underway, as is Paul, so the rain must have cleared up!

Aryna Sabalenka’s match against Anna Blinkova is underway on court 1 – that match will not have any disruptions as it has a roof on the court.

O’Connell and Eubanks are back underway after suspension but Rune’s match has not, neither Paul’s. Strange!

An unforced error from Jarry and a double fault from Alcaraz has the game 15-15. An error from Alcaraz now but an ace levels the game once more. Another double fault from the top seed gives Jarry break point and he gets it after a long rally! Wow.

A forehand is just out from Jarry but Alcaraz then has an error and it’s 15-15. The top seed hits the net and a ball is out to give Jarry 40-15 lead. An ace gives him the game!

Some outside court matches have been suspended, others not and so I am slightly bamboozled. Rune and Dart and Watson’s matches have been but Tsitsipas’ continues. Will bring you updates as they come.

The top seed goes two sets to one up! Jarry challenged a call saying Alcaraz’ serve was in but it was and then the Spaniard played a great ball to go 30-0 up. Jarry looks as though he could have an issue as he is taking a long time to walk back to set up. Alcaraz has a set point and surely he will take it? He doesn’t yet! A drop shot hits the net. But he does now!

Jarry will have to hold his serve here to stay in this set. A great start in that venture with an unforced error from Alcaraz but he hits the net to see it 15-15. What a point! They battle at the net and then Alcaraz sends the ball long and out! Alcaraz is lightning quick to win the next point to level it 30-30 and he has great play to give him break and set point. A great response from Jarry with an ace sending it to deuce. And Jarry wraps it up! Amazing under that pressure.

I think the rain has struck again with outside court matches suspended.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has taken the first set against Laslo Djere 6-4 with the second just about to get inderway.

An ace starts the game and an unforced error from Jarry sees the top seed 30-0 up. Another error from the Chilean and an ace gives the game to Alcaraz.

Fucsovics started really well, taking a dominant first set but Medvedev hit back. Fucsovics was dealing with ankle issues in the fourth set and despite a good fight, saving a match point, he fell to defeat.

Jarry’s first serve was called out but he challenged the call. It stood but he took his second serve which ended in an unforced error. The momentum has shifted now into Alcaraz’ favour. The score levels and then Alcaraz has an error. Jarry hit the roof, quite literally, with the next point and so it is replayed. He wins the next two to hold.

Davidovich Fokina has won the second set again Rune 6-4 after losing the first 6-3.

Two aces start this game for Alcaraz and Jarry puts it out to see the top seed 40-0 up. He hits double fault though but follows it up with an ace to give him a good advantage in the third set.

Jarry mishits a shot and Alcaraz has a huge forehand which whizzes past the Chilean to go 30-0 up. An unforced error from the top seed puts Jarry back into the game but Jarry gifts Alcaraz break point. And he is clinical in taking it!

Watson and Dart have lost the second set 6-2 after winning the first 6-1 against Mihal?kov? and Hrun??kov?.

Two lovely drop shots sees Alcaraz 30-0 up but Jarry plays a nice forehand to get himself back in the game. Alcaraz makes an error to level it but Jarry has his own error to give the top seed the chance to hold. And an ace seals it.

Fucsovics has continued his match against Medvedev after calling a medical time-out. The fourth set 3-2 in Medvedev’s favour.

An unforced Jarry error starts this game but he takes the next point to level. Alcaraz challenges a call with Jarry’s shot called in but the decision is upheld. Jarry sends it out with the next point and it’s level once more. A great drop shot from Alcaraz gifts him break point – a huge moment. Jarry does well under pressure to hit a winner to take it to deuce but a cheap error gives Alcaraz the advantage and another break point. He can’t take it with a non-return and we’re back to deuce. Alcaraz has slipped trying to return a shot and silence engulfs the court as fans worry he can’t continue but he puts a thumbs up! He is okay but the slip gave Jarry the advantage. Jarry’s serve is called out but he challenges, it was out and we’re back to 40-40. Jarry gets advantage once again and sees it out.

Into the third set then and the players exchange points with the game 15-15. Alcaraz forces another error but then has a double fault to see it 30-30 but Alcaraz sees it out.

Christopher Eubanks has taken the first set against Christopher O’Connell in a tie break. He took it 7-6 (7-5). Also Fucsovics is taking a medical time-out against Medvedev, he is currently two sets to one down to Medvedev.

Alex has got in touch on email and has pointed out I was using Kostic’s maiden name in my updates in her game against Kvitova. Her married name is Stevanovic – if anyone else was confused by my posts!

Gamiz and Detiuc have beaten Collins and Christie in the women’s doubles over three sets. The score 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.

Jarry has done it! He manages to outclass Alcaraz in the tiebreak. Here’s how it played out: A huge rally starts this tie break and Alcaraz pushes it out for Jarry to take the first point. An unreturnable serve from Alcaraz puts them 1-1. Alcaraz shouts in celebration with a powerful forehand making Jarry put in an unforced error – 2-1. And two aces puts Jarry 3-2 up. Alcaraz wins the next point to have this second set finely poised. Another unforced Jarry error has Alcaraz 4-3 up but the Spaniard makes two errors and Jarry is now 5-4 up. A lovely lob from Alcaraz levels the scoreboard again! This tie break is electric. And another great shot has him 6-4 up, set point. He can’t sew it up straight away with the score 6-6. Jarry gets the next point and with it set point

Holger Rune has taken the first set 6-3 over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina after their game was delayed.

Paul has pulled off something amazing there! He takes the third set, a must win for him as Lehecka had won the first two sets. The third went to a tie break and the American won it 7-6 (7-5).

Britain’s Harriet Dart and Heather Watson have won their first set 6-1 against Slovakian duo Vikt?ria Hrun??kov? and Tereza Mihal?kov? in the women’s doubles.

An ace starts the game for Jarry and he does some acrobatics for the ball to go through his legs as Alcaraz hits the ball out. He has an unforced error though to see the game 30-15 but Alcaraz pops it out for Jarry to have a chance to hold. And he holds!

The players exchange points as the latest game gets underway. Jarry can’t return a serve to give Alcaraz 30-15 and then the Chilean makes an unforced error. Alcaraz then has his own error but he takes the game with Jarry hitting the net.

Medvedev has taken the third set against Fucsovics 6-4. He is two sets to one up as he also won the second set 6-3 after losing the first 6-4.

Two-time winner Kvitova came back from the rain delay meaning business! She has wrapped up her match against Kostic with a 6-3, 7-5 win. Kostic may feel hard done by with the delay, she had the momentum before the break.

Alcaraz is in a moment, that last game was his third game win in a row. He also wins the first point of this game but Jarry hits back with an ace. Alcaraz can’t return the next serve and an ace sees the Chilean 40-15 up. And he wraps it up quickly.

We have new balls ahead of this game. A powerful serve starts this game, it would be huge if Alcaraz could level this set after almost going two breaks down. He quickly gets to 40-0, will he have a clean game? He will! A lovely drop shot ends the game.

Jarry pushes a shot out to give Alcaraz 15-0 but his backhand hits the net to level it. The Spaniard is shouting as his forehand hits the net, his frustration is clear – Jarry is putting him out of sorts. Jarry plays a great shot to be 40-15 but an unforced error gives Alcaraz a bit of hope here. Another error from Jarry sends it to deuce (again!). Jarry’s slice is called out and Alcaraz has break point but an non-return on the serve sees it back to 40-40. A phenomenal forehand shot from Jarry gives him advantage but he can’t follow it up and we’re back to deuce again! Alcaraz has break point once more and he takes it! A huge roar of celebration from the top seed.

Jarry takes the first point with a powerful forehand but Alcaraz quickly levels. The Spaniard hits the net though and Jarry pushes the game to advantage. A beautiful backhand sees Alcaraz with advantage and Jarry can’t return to give the game to Alcaraz.

Kvitova has held a very important game to keep her in the second set as her match gets back underway. She and Kostic are 5-5 in the second after Kvitova won the first 6-3.

Jarry races to a 30-0 lead but Alcaraz pops a beautiful drop shot to get himself into the game. Jarry then smacks the net to level the game and he does it again! Alcaraz has break point and the Spaniard thought he had it with an out call. Jarry challenged the call and it is in! The umpire is not replaying the point, to Alcaraz’ frustration, and se we head to deuce. Alcaraz gets break point again with Jarry hitting the net but this time Alcaraz hits the net and it’s deuce once more. Alcaraz can’t return and Jarry has advantage – this would be a huge moment if he can hold. And he does it!

A superb rally ends with a volley from Alcaraz going out. Alcaraz’ serve does him well for the next two points but Jarry then sends a good forehand down the line with Alcaraz’ return hitting the net – 30-30. Jarry gets another break point as he attacks from the net and a backhand puts him 40-30. He doesn’t take it as he pushes his shot out, deuce we go. Alcaraz gets advantage and he takes the game under pressure!

Jarry’s serve continues to be a thorn in Alcaraz’ side as he goes 30-0 up with non-returns from the top seed. A great forehand put the Chilean 40-0 and he wins the game!

An ace and a non-return from Jarry puts Alcaraz 30-0 up. Alcaraz challenges a call as his serve is called out, it is a matter of millimetres but it is out – second serve. Jarry wins the point with a powerful forehand. Alcaraz then pushes it long to level it 30-30. An ace puts the Spaniard 40-30 up but we are at deuce once again. Jarry has break point with a poor hit from Alcaraz hitting the net. And he gets it! What a moment.

Medvedev has taken the second set 6-3 after losing the first 6-4 against Fucsovics. Game on!

Two aces start this second set from Jarry, Alcaraz then can’t return the serve and sees Jarry 40-0 up. And another unreturnable serve sees him have a clean game.

44 minutes the first set lasted! Over on the other men’s singles, Medvedev is 5-3 up in the second set against Fucsovics.

Alcaraz takes the first set despite a strong Jarry performance. Alcaraz wins the first point as Jarry’s shot it out but then pushes his own shot and it’s 15-15. The Spaniard wins the next point with another out call but Jarry does really well to level it 30-30. But Alcaraz has set point as Jarry hits the net. This time he isn’t clinical and hits the net to send the game to deuce. Jarry screams in frustration with his forehand smacking the net but he works well to send it back to deuce – popping the ball away from Alcaraz. Jarry has composed himself under this pressure and gives himself break point! He doesn’t take it though with Alcaraz saving his serve and gets advantage once again. This is his third set point and this time he takes it!

Alcaraz is so clinical, that was his first break point and he seals it. He performs well under pressure.

Alcaraz breaks and will serve for the first set! Alcaraz *5-3 Jarry (*denotes next server)

Jarry’s serve is working wonders for him at the moment, Alcaraz is finding it difficult to return them. And just as I type that he has a double fault, always the way! He puts my point back on track with an ace though to put him 30-15 up. We finally have a rally between the pair and Alcaraz comes out on top with Jarry pushing the ball out. An incredible rally ends with Alcaraz making a fist in celebration – the longest rally of the match so far gives Alcaraz break point. And he breaks!

Delightful from Alcaraz, Jarry comes close to the net and makes a great volley but Alcaraz goes for the lob and Jarry can’t get to it. The Spaniard plays a drop shot next and Jarry’s return hits the net – Alcaraz 30-0 up. He sends Jarry left and right and a huge forehand gets him to 40-0. He again can’t secure a perfect game though as he hits the net. Jarry’s return is then out.

Alcaraz *3-3 Jarry (*denotes next server)

Alcaraz can’t return the serve but then Jarry pushes a shot long. Jarry takes a lot of time before he serves, a little like Djokovic does. Alcaraz’ return on the serve is out and he can’t return it again! And Jarry takes it with another unreturnable serve.

Alcaraz 3-2* Jarry (*denotes next server)

Wow that is a great shot from Alcaraz. A powerful forehand pops in the right corner to win the opening point of the game. Jarry can’t return the serve and his drop shot doesn’t go over the net for the Spaniard to be 40-0 up. He does not take a clean game though as his smacks the net and he has too much on another shot to see Jarry back into the game. He hits the net again to bring the game to deuce, will we see the first break of the match here? No we won’t. Jarry hits the net and then he pushes a shot too far.

Alcaraz *2-2 Jarry (*denotes next server)

This time it is Alcaraz who attempts a drop shot but he hits the net. He then pushes the ball out giving Jarry 30-0. A great ace, right down the middle of the court, puts him 40-0 and a sensational forehand gives him the day.

Alcaraz 2-1* Jarry (*denotes next server)

An ace from Alcaraz starts the third game and Jarry hits the net to give the top seed 30-0. Alcaraz pushes a shot too long to let Jarry into the game but the Chilean tries to take the power out of the ball with a deft backhand but it hits the net. Jarry sends the ball out and Alcaraz wins the game.

Alcaraz *1-1 Jarry (*denotes next server)

A good start to the game from Jarry with a powerful serve gives him an ace but he pushes his return in a rally too far to level the game 15-15. Again Jarry’s return isn’t clinical and Alcaraz is 30-15 up. Jarry reads Alcaraz’ run well and sends the ball the other way for 30-30. The Spaniard can’t return a serve and Jarry’s return does not have enough power again to send the game to deuce. Jarry wraps it up cleanly.

Fucsovics served for the first set after an earlier break over Medvedev and he was clinical again! He takes it 6-4, if he goes all the way this could be an upset.

Alcaraz 1-0* Jarry (*denotes next server)

Jarry managed to get to a good position at 30-15 against serve but Alcaraz levelled with the ball hitting the net and bouncing in – he did apologise for the way the ball bounced. An ace saw Alcaraz 40-30 up but Jarry took the game to deuce. An ace gave Alcaraz the advantage but a great smash from Jarry levelled it out again. A well played ball from Alcaraz saw Jarry unable to get enough power on his return for advantage once more and a ball is out form Jarry! That’s the first game, wow what a match we are in for.
