The Israeli army shot one Palestinian dead and left another wounded on Thursday night in the West Bank, after they allegedly attempted to throw firebombs at drivers, Palestinian media reported.

The two Palestinians tried to hurl firebombs at the Tunnels Road near Bet Jala, “endangering the lives of the drivers on the road,” the IDF’s spokesman said.

One of the Palestinians was apprehended and the other was wounded. He was given medical treatment at the scene, according to the IDF, but was later declared dead.

The IDF statement made no mention of the reported injury of the second Palestinian.

This is a developing story.
