Eyewitnesses said the boy was hit during clashes that erupted on a road surrounding the settlements of Elon Moreh in the West Bank, where Palestinians hold weekly protests.
According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, clashes also erupted near the Palestinian village of Beita, a village adjacent to the evacuated Evyatar outpost in the West Bank.
Five Palestinians were hit by sponge-tipped bullets in the clashes, four sustained bruises and 61 suffered tear gas inhalation.
Weekly demonstrations in Beita began when Evyatar first sprung up on a hilltop near Nablus in May. The protests often escalate into clashes between Palestinians and Israel’s security forces.
