Israel hit a three-month record in new daily coronavirus cases, Health Ministry data published on Sunday shows, as the country’s fourth wave keeps waning.
According to the figures, 734 new cases were diagnosed Saturday, being the first time in three months new daily infection drop to a three-digit number.
Israel currently has 388 serious cases, of which 157 are on ventilators. Since the pandemic erupted in Israel, 7,983 people have died from the virus.
Over 70 percent of Israel’s serious cases are unvaccinated, while 15 percent of the country’s eligible population have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Also on Sunday, Israel’s new Green Pass – the country’s proof of vaccination pass – went into effect.
