Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu arrived in Israel Wednesday, in the first visit of a Turkish foreign minister in 15 years. Cavusoglu visited the Palestinian territories on Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning, during a visit to Yad Vashem, Cavusoglu reaffirmed Turkey’s dedication to fighting antisemitism, Islamophobia and all forms of intolerance.

Cavusoglu noted that he was proud that Turkey served as a refuge for Jews during the Holocaust, and that Turkish diplomats saved countless Jews while risking their own lives.

Later Wednesday, Cavusoglu is slated to meet with Foreign Minister Yair Lapid. The two will give a joint press conference.
