Vietnam POW Warns Americans Not to Take Freedom for Granted

Retired Navy Cmdr. Everett Alvarez Jr., the first American pilot shot down over North Vietnam during the Vietnam War and the longest-held prisoner of war during the conflict, said his life reflects the American dream as the nation prepares to celebrate Independence Day.
